What is Lipo-C?

Lipo-C is a lipotropic compound blend typically containing methionine, inositol, choline and L-carnitine — compounds studied for their roles in fat metabolism and liver function.

What is the concentration?

10mg/ml in a 10ml vial, providing 100mg total per vial.

What purity is guaranteed?

Where we hold an independent Janoshik report for a compound we publish it in full - batch number, purity and a verification key you can check against the lab yourself. Where we do not hold one the product is marked research grade and we say so, rather than claim a report we cannot produce.

Research guide

Lipo-C, explained

The short version: Lipo-C is a name for injectable lipotropic blends, usually methionine, inositol and choline plus L-carnitine and some B vitamins. The ingredients are everyday nutrients, and there is no good trial of the injection itself for fat loss.

What it is

Lipo-C is not one fixed formula. One common recipe combines L-methionine, inositol, choline and L-carnitine, with vitamins B1 (thiamine) and B5 (pantothenic acid). The first three are often shortened to MIC. Makers vary the mix, so the label on the vial is the only reliable list of what is in it. Message us if anything on it is unclear.

"Lipotropic" is an old label for nutrients tied to fat handling, especially in the liver. One sign of that link: lab diets stripped of methionine and choline are a standard way to give mice a fatty, inflamed liver. That is a liver story, not proof of fat loss elsewhere in the body.

What has been studied

The best-studied ingredient by far is L-carnitine. A 2020 meta-analysis of 37 randomised trials with 2,292 people found carnitine supplements lowered body weight by about 1.2 kg on average compared with control, with a modest drop in fat mass and no change in waist size or body fat percentage. An earlier 2016 review of nine trials found a similar small effect that got weaker the longer people took it. Those trials were of carnitine on its own, mostly taken by mouth.

Where the evidence stops

We searched PubMed and found no controlled trial of a combined methionine, inositol, choline and carnitine injection for weight or fat loss. Lipo-C is a compounded-style blend, not an approved medicine. Any claim about it borrows from studies of single nutrients in other forms.

Handling and storage

Lipo-C comes as a ready-mixed liquid in a 10 ml vial, so there is nothing to reconstitute. Store it exactly as the label says, keep it out of direct light and heat, and check the expiry date. Wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab before each draw, and do not use it if the liquid is cloudy, discoloured or has particles in it.

Familiar nutrients in an injectable mix, with small carnitine effects behind it and no trials of the blend.
