Research highlights

  • ✓A single-vial blend of tirzepatide and retatrutide; composition confirmed on request
  • ✓Both are synthetic peptides modelled on incretin hormone sequences
  • ✓Researchers have examined each compound separately in receptor-binding and signalling studies
  • ✓No published literature covers the two peptides combined in one preparation
What is TirzReta Blend?

A research preparation supplying two peptides in one vial: tirzepatide, a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, and retatrutide, which also acts at the glucagon receptor. The composition of the blend is confirmed on request. Supplied for laboratory research use only.

What does the published research on this combination look like?

Thin. Tirzepatide and retatrutide appear in the literature as separate compounds, and we are not aware of published work on the two combined. Retatrutide is still investigational; tirzepatide is approved as a medicine in some markets, but not as a blend.

Research guide

TirzReta Blend, explained

The short version: TirzReta Blend puts tirzepatide and retatrutide, two Eli Lilly compounds, in one vial. Each has big trials behind it, but nobody has studied the two together.

What it is

A blend of two incretin peptides. The label shows the total amount in the vial, not how it splits between the two, so message us if you need the ratio. Keep in mind they overlap: both act on the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, and retatrutide adds the glucagon receptor on top.

The two parts

Tirzepatide is a dual GIP and GLP-1 agonist. The US FDA approved it as Zepbound for chronic weight management in November 2023, after it was already approved as Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes. In adults without diabetes, the highest approved dose averaged 18% weight loss against placebo.

Retatrutide is the triple agonist. Its TRIUMPH-1 trial (NEJM, 2026) in 2,339 adults with obesity reported 25.0% average weight loss at 80 weeks at the highest dose tested, against 3.9% on placebo. It is still not approved anywhere. In both drugs' trials, gut side effects such as nausea were the most common complaints.

Where the evidence stops

The blend itself has never been studied. No trial we could find gives tirzepatide and retatrutide to the same person at the same time. Lilly is testing them against each other instead, in a head-to-head trial called TRIUMPH-5 with about 800 adults, still running in 2026. Because they share two receptors, nobody knows whether combining them adds anything or simply stacks the same side effects. Every number above comes from Lilly's own drugs, given one at a time.

Handling and storage

It arrives as a freeze-dried powder. Once bacteriostatic water goes in, it belongs in the fridge. Our reconstitution and storage guide covers the details, and the calculator does the maths.

Two well-tested Lilly molecules, one untested combination.
