What is KPV?

KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH. It reduces inflammation via NF-κB pathway inhibition and has been researched for gut inflammation, skin repair and immune modulation.

What purity is guaranteed?

Where we hold an independent Janoshik report for a compound we publish it in full - batch number, purity and a verification key you can check against the lab yourself. Where we do not hold one the product is marked research grade and we say so, rather than claim a report we cannot produce.

Research guide

KPV, explained

The short version: KPV is three amino acids long: lysine, proline and valine. It is the tail end of a hormone called alpha-MSH, and it is about as small as a useful peptide gets.

What it is

Alpha-MSH is best known for skin pigment, but it also calms inflammation. KPV is the last three amino acids of that hormone, and researchers found that this tiny piece keeps much of the anti-inflammatory activity on its own.

What has been studied

In cell studies, KPV damps down NF-kB, a master switch for inflammation, and lowers inflammatory signals such as TNF-alpha and IL-6. Gut cells can take it up through a transporter called PepT1, which is why so much of the work is about the intestine.

In mouse models of colitis, KPV reduced inflammation, and a 2010s line of work packed it into nanoparticles designed to release it in the colon.

Where the evidence stops

All of it is cell culture and rodent work. As far as we can find, no human trial of KPV has been run or registered.

Handling and storage

It arrives as a freeze-dried powder. Once bacteriostatic water goes in, it belongs in the fridge. Our reconstitution and storage guide covers the details, and the calculator does the maths.

Three amino acids that carry much of a hormone's anti-inflammatory effect. Promising in mice, untested in people.
